What Does a Clutch Slave Cylinder Do?
Before you can diagnose a faulty clutch slave cylinder, you need to
know what it does in the first place and to get a better
understanding of that you need a basic understanding of how the
clutch works.
When you depress your vehicle’s clutch pedal, you’re manually
pushing a rod into the clutch master cylinder. The clutch master
cylinder converts this force into hydraulic pressure, and that
hydraulic pressure releases the clutch plate so your vehicle can
switch gears.
Once you release the clutch pedal, the clutch slave cylinder gets
to work. The clutch slave cylinder simply reengages the clutch
pedal and your vehicle jumps into the new gear.
The clutch slave cylinder is always trying to engage the clutch,
that way whenever you release the clutch pedal, your vehicle gets
back into gear.
Axle Shaft Gear
The axle shafts used in vehicles—also called half shafts or CV
axles—allow the transmission to transfer motion to the vehicle's
wheels. Axle shafts also regulate changes in drive between the
differential sun wheel and rear hub
What is axle gear?
Axles and differentials contain gearing that allow power to be
transferred from your engine and driveline to the wheels. The
engine and transmission spin a driveshaft, which is coupled to a
stout pinion gear within the axle. The pinion engages with and
turns a larger gear known as a ring gear.
The function of a drive axle differential
The differential is a necessary component of the drivetrain because
the left and right drive wheels turn at different speeds whenever
the car moves along a curve (e.g., turning a corner). Whenever a
car is executing a turn, the outside drive wheel rotates at a
higher angular speed than the inside wheel.
