Why is my rear brake fluid leaking?
Each brake caliper or brake drum has a bleeder valve (or bleeder
screw) used to “bleed brakes,” — which allows air to be expelled
from the steel brake lines. If the bleeder valve gets damaged or
knocked loose, it can cause brake fluid to leak
What causes rear brake cylinder leak?
Worn piston seals made out of rubber will wear out and become
brittle due to age. A cracked piston seal will allow fluid to leak
past the pistons. Poor brake response and a mushy brake pedal are
other signs it's time for a replacement. A leaking wheel cylinder
compromises the braking power of your vehicle.
Can I drive with a leaking rear wheel cylinder?
If you suspect your brake fluid is leaking, do not attempt to drive
it. Look under your hood and check the brake fluid reservoir. An
empty reservoir means that your brakes have been leaking for a
while. Have your vehicle towed to your mechanic for a professional
repai.
