How does a tractor hydraulic pump work?
The hydraulic system in a tractor works by the pumps transferring the fluid from the system's reservoir all the way to the tractor's hydraulic system. What this does is raise the level of energy of the fluid by increasing the pressure. The motor of the tractor then acts as the main power source for the pump.
How to Replace a Hydraulic Pump
Determine the cause of the pumps' failure.
Fix or eliminate the cause of the failed pump.
Retract all the cylinder rods.
Drain the tank.
Flush the tank through with diesel under pressure.
Replace the old filter elements with new ones of 10 microns or better.
Install the new pumps.
